The first six problems the students will need a protractor so we will finish those 6 questions at the beginning of class tomorrow, unless they have their own protractor at home that they can use. Questions 7-11 they can do without a protractor so they need to have those answered for tomorrow.

The homework tonight is for students to study for the integers quiz tomorrow. We did a review in class today so they should have that to study. They will need to know how to add, subtract, multiply and divide integers for the quiz tomorrow. 

Also, the can food drive is still going on until next week. Students are competing to see which grade level brings the most cans or brand new toys to school to donate. The deadline is next week so keep bring either food or toys!

Today in class the students took notes on how to add integers. We then did some practice problems using math manipulatives. Tomorrow they will be learning how to subtract integers and next week they will learn how to multiply and divide integers. There was no homework tonight and their will not be any tomorrow. I hope everyone has a restful and relaxing time during Thanksgiving.

HW: worksheet 7-10 and students choose 5 problems to complete. Also, the homework from yesterday, WS 5-5, is now due on Friday because many students had trouble with it so I am extending the due date to Friday, October 18. Tomorrow we will be doing a review over Unit 3 and Friday there will be a math test. I will post some practice question tonight.

Unit 2 Test

I have attached a copy of the test for students who need to do test corrections. The corrections were supposed to be due Thursday, but since many students forgot, the corrections will be due on Tuesday, October 15. They will need to correct the questions that they got incorrect by showing their work and their new answer on a separate sheet of paper. Once they finish, they will staple their corrections to their original paper and turn them in. 

Also, their homework tonight is worksheet 5-3 and they are only doing the odd questions. Below is a video on how to add and subtract unlike denominators.

Here is a video on how to subtract a whole number and a fraction. The only way to add or subtract fractions are if the denominators, the bottom numbers, are the same.The homework for tonight is worksheet 4-8, which deals with adding and subtracting whole numbers and fractions. The students are to do problems 1-19 and number 20 is for extra credit if students want to attempt the problem.

The homework for tonight is to finish their Modeling Percent Project because it is due tomorrow. They are to color their grid, write the percents and then write the fractions. May sure to simplify each of your fractions if you can. This will be the students first test grade.

The homework for tonight is a worksheet called integer practice, and students also need to have a design on their graph paper for their project. Tomorrow they will receive a final copy for their project where they can color their design and fill in the percent and fractions. Each student only gets one copy of the paper so they need to make sure have one already created so that they don't mess up.

For homework tonight, the students need to complete worksheet 7-8 about fractions, decimals and percents. Also, the students received information about a math project. The students are to come up with their own design and color for a grid with 100 squares. Each student received a piece of graph paper today to begin working on a design and color scheme. They need to have a design picked by Wednesday because on Wednesday they will receive the worksheet where they can color their final project onto. Once it is colored, they will need to find the fraction for each color and also the percent. The final project is due on Thursday, and it will count as a test grade. Below is a link of the final worksheet that students will turn in. There will also be a math test this Friday, September 13.

Today in class we went over the rules and expectations for class. We also set up our notebooks for those students who had a notebook ready. If you didn't have a notebook today, please bring one tomorrow and I can get you caught up. Tomorrow we will continue to set up the notebooks and will move on to the first math lesson.
